Dear Babes-

Thank you for staying put this weekend so we could all say goodbye to Maj. Now, we are ready. All of us. Me especially. We are all ready for a positive event. We are ready to find out if you are a boy or a girl. We are ready to see who you look like, and how big you are. You have a large fan club wanting to see you into the world. You have surpassed your due date and mommy is anxious to see you. Come on kid... bring it on.

Goodbye Paul

It doesn't seem right that I should already have to be writing a goodbye letter to yet another friend.

Tuesday in the early afternoon (Australian time) Paul died. He was a very sweet man with a lovely wife and four adorable children. I hope they all know they are in my thoughts. Goodbye Paul.

Goodbye Major

There is very little to say other than we lost a great friend Saturday morning. I have never known such a genuine person. I will miss your laughter Maj, and the way you made me smile. Love you always.

Awaiting the inevitable arrival

Babes is due in 9 days. I am 2cm dilated and 90% effaced. I have been moving slower, and I basically feel like the baby is trying to bust out... straight down. Having contractions fairly often, although they are not yet very painful. I know that Babes will come when ready... but I have to tell you, I am ready.

iPhone

In case of emergencies, J has a supply of Blue's Clues stored on his phone. Last week after we put Dude to bed, he snuck over and grabbed J's iPhone off the charger. Dude of course knows exactly how to unlock and find his Blue's Clues program, making an illegal middle of the night Blue's Clues session a possibility. If he would have just stayed awake long enough to put the iPhone back on the charger, he would have never been caught.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

It has been a crazy month. Work has never been so busy, which is taking a toll on us there. Long hours, a pager that will not shut up, and even a trip in on the weekend. I am physically and mentally exhausted which isn't helped out by the fact that I am VERY pregnant.

It does not look like the house will be done before Babes gets here. I have finally come to grips with that... which means I am now attempting to reorder the rental house in a fashion that will work out with the new arrival. In the long run it really isn't a big deal, I just had to change the vision of our return home as a newer bigger family.

Christmas was very relaxing, even though I had to work the day before and after. I did not get Christmas cards out this year, which I am not even feeling guilty about. I figure with all that we have on our plate right now, friends and family will understand.

I have less than three weeks before my due date. I keep thinking that Babes will come early since I am feeling a little scattered, but I hope he/she can hold on to around the due date. Gives me just a little bit more time to try and get things ready. Dude would be happy for the arrival at anytime. Now that we are in 2008 he knows that Babes is coming, and I think he is getting a bit anxious.

I hope that everyone had a great New Year. Mine was relaxing and uneventful... exactly what I needed to help me survive the week ahead. Welcome 2008... I know you will be one hell of a year.
