Been an interesting adventure... So excited to have the place done. We had always enteded to rebuild... loved the neighborhood... didn't like the house. Took us a couple years to save some money and figure it out.
Wow.. that is a huge project. It will be amazing when it is totally finished though! Congratulations on really making your dreams come true.

I fear you may be going at this sideways. This is a really detailed design problem and probably won't be solved in the space we have in this group.
When designing SQL databases, it's crucial to decide what your basic data elements are. A wrong decision at the beginning can cause the kind of loopy, recursive indecision you are experiencing now.
I can't possibly infer all your requirements from this short description, but it seems to me like your basic data elements are a print identifier, a movie identifier, a show time, and a theatre location. (Note: your basic table should NOT contain the movie identifier, because it can be derived solely from the print identifier. There should be a separate table to correlate those two elements.)
If this is correct, it's quite possible that your DATES table *should not be a table at all*, but instead should be a view of the basic table generated by a query expression equivalent to, "show me all the dates where any print of movie identifier X is playing at location Y." In other words, treat DATES like a report, and not a table, and you won't have to maintain it, it will maintain itself.
