Dreaming...

(I have a lot of dreams where I seem to be hovering over the whole event... this was one of them. Sometimes I am one of the people involved, but a lot of the time I am not... just there watching)

He walks out, stands in the driveway and gives a quick wave goodbye. It is a half hour drive to downtown, for his business meeting. That is what he is calling it, makes it seem less of a betrayal somehow.

As he starts his journey the rain begins to fall, slowing traffic. He gets anxious, upset about the prospect of being even one minute late. That would be one less minute with her. He pops a mint into his mouth and puts the CD on. The CD that makes him think of her.

Another mint, and a splash of cologne. The cologne he wears only for her.

He keeps telling himself this means nothing. He hasn’t seen her in months. But he has thought of her. The way his arms fit perfectly around her, the way he gets that flutter in his stomach when he first sees her. No, it can’t mean anything.

….

She looks in the mirror smoothing out the side of her dress. It’s perfect. The perfect black dress. The dress that makes her feel beautiful and sexy. She finally found the dress, to share with him.

She shuts the hotel room door behind her and heads down to the party.

The music in the background makes her think of him, the way he holds her, the way he smells. She orders a drink and waits by the bar.

She is beautiful. Her hair pulled back, with a few strategically placed wisps falling near her face. Others notice her beauty, her confidence.

She has been anticipating this business trip for months. The chance to see him again, if only for an evening.

….

He parks the car and hurries into the party. He immediately sees her, in a black dress that fits her like a second skin. He can’t help but watch her, the way she stands sipping her drink. Chatting with one of her many admirers… waiting patiently for him.

He sees the other men and the way they look at her and begins to feel his chest tighten. He has no feelings for her. This has never meant a thing he reminds himself.

He slowly approaches, waiting for the perfect moment. He grabs her hand and takes her to the dance floor and they begin to dance. Not a word said, just holding one another.

She smells his cologne, the cologne especially for her. She reaches for his hand and leads him from the floor. Quietly walking out the door, to her room. She opens the balcony door letting the fresh evening air fill the room. Dimming the lights she again pulls him close to finish the dance. This time to the sound of the falling rain.

He looks into her eyes, sweeps her hair back… wanting to finally tell her what he has been denying for so long. She shakes her head putting her finger to his lips, kisses him, and they continue their dance.

Arizona

After a fun weekend in Arizona for a wedding I am barely surviving a cold that my lovely husband insisted on sharing with me. Arizona is warm and dry, another observation... lots of boob jobs. No, not being judgmental, just envious. Nothing better than a perfect rack don't you think... makes your clothes fit better.

Thinking...

From comments I keep getting it's become obvious that I need to buy motorcycle parts for my Harley... that way I can ride over and play Texas Holdem... because I need to make money you know... to extend my penis. Thank you to all the companies worried about my bike, my card playing, and my non-existent penis.

My friend Chris is a Winner!

Since Jere and his dad headed for a weekend in Portland, Chris, Finn and I went down to see my parents. Saturday afternoon we went to the local grocery store to stock up on some munchies. An announcement on the overhead speaker informed us that there was a game being played... go to aisle 6, and look for the 2 hidden bags of Hoody's Peanuts. After the 5th announcement I decided to wander over. There were around 18 people in the cookie aisle; being laughed at by the store manager... no one could find the hidden peanut bags. Chris wanders down the aisle asking why it seemed to be such a popular place. And wouldn't you know, Chris the one who had no idea what was going on, found a bag of peanuts. His prize grocery bag consisted of- Multigrain Bread, Roll of Paper Towels, 2 cans of Spaghetti O's, 2 Raspberry Zingers, Can of Corn, Can of Green Beans, Saltine Crackers, and a Bottle of Snapple Water. Now whoever thought the little town of Westport could be so fun...

I have a Suite in Hell

I have a suite in hell. I do. I have roommates as well. M is one. She is there to keep me company; she is my roommate and workmate there. Our suite is quite large. Has to be… how else would all the people we make fun of fit there. On our wall would be a flat screen TV… a 24hr feed, showing us what we are missing in heaven. Watching our loved ones with the gods, drinking nectar and eating ambrosia. Us having to walk around topless, granting “Too Big” every sexual desire he has… that is what we deserve…for purposely stacking the big lunch tray on the little lunch tray… just to see his reaction every time we would eat at South Campus Center… our hours of laughter because of his frustrated scream… “TOO BIG”!
